Ellen & Tom have an ease to their interactions that was really striking in the best possible way. Shooting their engagements was so enjoyable, first because they are an incredibly fun & sweet pair, but also because their love for one another is so very easy to feel. Each embrace, each glance, and each hand grasp was so natural…as it should be.

They met a few short years ago while at college in Indiana, where Ellen grew up, where Tom was born, and where they will marry in the near future. They called me on a Saturday and I shot these engagements the following Tuesday, so I didn’t get the opportunity to get to know them much before we started shooting but before the end of the session I felt like I was in the company of good friends. We began at the Cathedral of Junk before hitting up a few other Austin hot spots and ending in front of Chez Nous, where they shared dinner after he proposed. Congratulations Ellen & Tom! I wish you the best this life has to offer!

Jessica & Daniel married this past Saturday, on a beautifully blessed evening at The Allan House in downtown Austin. It was an intimate and fun wedding. There were so many details that perfectly expressed who they are as a couple: youthful, fun, in love, big hearted, warm, full of life, and full of hope for the future. Jessica lovingly dressed their dog Walter in his own tux for his role as ring bearer, and Daniel’s father served as both the best man and the officiant. The night was filled with happiness and we couldn’t be more honored to have witnessed them start this new chapter in their love story. Congratulations Jessica & Daniel!

We had an absolute blast at this weekend’s Bridal Extravaganza, meeting a lot of sweet couples & munching on all the mini cupcakes! We were next door to Hill Country Cupcake so we are happy campers! All the couples we met were equally excited to get their lives together started on the right path and that giddy feeling is infectious! Bridal shows can be a tad overwhelming, but they are the perfect way to play your wedding since you have the opportunity to get wonderful ideas for your wedding, meet the best people in the wedding industry, & because vendors offer great savings for couples….including ourselves! You never know when or where you’ll meet your other half, but for Emily & Kerstan it came easy. They met years ago at a conference while they were both in school. Their love story continues today and if you spend even five minutes with them you’ll see why. They have a natural and playful love that brings a smile to my heart.  Couples like Emily & Kerstan make each shot special. Their March wedding is just around the corner and we are so excited to document them join their lives in front of their loved ones. The included their pup Hans & creative props. Enjoy!

Brian & Kari are a sweet duo. We loved spending an afternoon with them & had the pleasure of meeting their sweet pups as well! These two have a connection that was obvious from the start. Brian and Kari met through mutual friends while living and working in Texas, but amazingly they attended the same college and grew up only 15 minutes apart from one another in Michigan. Meant to be is an understatement here people!

Big hugs to you Kari & Brian! You two make an amazing couple and we can’t wait for your July wedding!

I’ve known Lisa since kindergarten & she has always been the sweetest, sassy, beautiful person she is today. Greg & Lisa met at work and their love story continues today to be celebrated at their January 2012 wedding! We are so very excited for them both. They have a natural way of interacting with one another and being around them is to witness pure happiness. They fit one another perfectly and we just adore them. Congratulations you two! We can’t wait for all the love & adventure your future promises!

Erik & Sarah are such a happy pair! We had a lot of fun getting to know them during their engagement session. They have an amazing chemistry. We are very excited for their May 2012 wedding! We started the session in South Austin, where we walked around and grabbed a few images here and there before heading downtown. Erik has a way of making Sarah smile that is incredibly heartwarming and we really enjoyed our time with them. Congratulations of your engagement Erik & Sarah!

Mike and Aly met years ago at a college basketball game while attending the University of Mississippi and sparks flew. Each of them knew they had found someone special and their love story continues today. We are so happy to share images from their gorgeous wedding at Vista West Ranch in Dripping Springs, Texas. Mike and Aly evoke a happy feeling in our hearts. That is the simplest & truest way to express our admiration of them. Their love has a presence that fills up any room they enter & we couldn’t be happier that they are now husband and wife! The day was full of details that spoke of a youthful & classic southern charm. Their friends and family are some of the sweetest & funniest people we’ve met. We knew we were in for a good party the moment we met their bridal party, a crowd full of wild & fun personalities. The bridesmaids even wrote and performed a short rap about Mike and Aly set to the theme song from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Entertainment provided by Rhythm Inc. Band was amazing! They kept everyone laughing and dancing while their amazing table of various sweet from Stardust Pastry fueled the fun! There were so many great details it was hard to pick what to share! Congratulations Mike & Aly!

Kathy & Colten are two of the sweetest people we’ve encountered. They have a love for each other that can be felt the moment you meet them. Of all the ways to be introduced to your future spouse, you don’t expect it to be through your 5th grade girlfriend, but you just never know when love will find you. Colten reconnected with his 5th grade girlfriend via Facebook, and she happened to be friends with Kathy. This smart girl had the crazy idea of introducing her friends, Kathy & Colten, to one another since she felt the same vibe from each of them. Low and behold Kathy and Colten met and fell in love! They were married Friday in an intimate evening ceremony at the Austin Music Hall. Family and friends surrounded the couple in support of Kathy & Colten’s love and their wonderful children. What a gorgeous wedding is all we could think all night!  They had an 80′s theme that included neon sunglasses and glow stick jewelry. Also represented was a nice detail to honor our veterans on Veteran’s day. Kathy and Colten you are wonderful, thank you for choosing us to share in your day! You two are beautiful and we are so happy for you both!
